We will be scooping sand and mud and straining out whatever macro invertebrates we find! Then we will study basic anatomy and habitat of each animal. Students will learn several vocabulary words in this lab as well as understanding the essential role of macroinvertebrates in ecosystems, consuming algae and plants before going on to become food for larger carnivores in the food chain. We will provide light refreshments.
