Stephanie Poole has been serving homeschoolers in the CSRA for twenty-five years as a curriculum consultant and owner of Homeschool Books for Less, which is the used bookstore in Aiken, SC. She looks forward to sharing information about various teaching methods, learning styles, and curriculum choices.
Dr. Kenneth Peeples
"Digital Citizenship"
Dr Kenneth W Peeples received his Doctorate in Systems Engineering, with an AI Threat Hunting focus, from Colorado State University earlier this year. With an established record as Principal Architect at IBM/Red Hat, with an expertise lies in the breadth and depth of AI and cybersecurity, particularly within the public sector. Dr. Peeples owns iCode Augusta, in addition to several startups, focused on neurodiversity and Digital Citizenship and Safety. Dr. Peeples is also a published author.
This breakout session provides homeschool parents, co-op leaders, and students with a proactive framework for safe, responsible internet use in home learning environments. The presentation moves beyond simple restrictions to focus on digital mentorship, data privacy, cyber hygiene, and managing online reputations. Attendees will learn actionable strategies for media literacy, evaluating online sources, handling cyberbullying, and balancing screen time to minimize distractions. Families will also receive practical takeaway resources, including a customizable Family Tech Agreement template, software discounts and a safety checklist guide.

Homeschooling on Purpose
Faith Dixon is a homeschool mom, wife, boutique owner, and author with a heart for encouraging moms to walk confidently in the calling God has placed on their lives. Her book, Homeschooling On Purpose, reminds families that homeschooling isn’t about doing everything perfectly—it’s about trusting God, walking in obedience, and embracing the purpose He has for your family. Through her own homeschool journey, Faith encourages moms to trade fear and comparison for faith, confidence, and joy in the season God has called them to.

Homeschooling from the Ground Up: Legal Requirements and Practical Rhythms

In this session, we will briefly cover the basic legal requirements for homeschooling in Georgia and South Carolina, including what families must do—and what they do not need to worry about. We will then focus on practical ways to set up your homeschool, organize your year, manage multiple children and create flexible rhythms that work with real family life. You will leave with simple, manageable next steps for building a homeschool that is both effective and sustainable.
